DISfunkshion Magazine

Honolulu, HI – Local DJ/Entertainer Kutmaster Spaz the creator of DIS-N-DAT TV, President/CEO of DIS-N-DAT Media Group and Executive Producer of Magic Island TV is about to release DISfunkshion all over Hawaii... DISfunkshion Magazine that is. After a successful year of DIS-N-DAT Magazine (his first publisher publication venture) Spaz felt he needed to produce a publication that is focused on a more specific audience. Where as DIS-N-DAT Magazine was very broad and was geared to men and women, as well as featured an urban lifestyle along with music and fashion. Spaz realized that it was hard to gear a publication to men AND women and that he couldn’t please one crowd without turning the other off. So in September of 2007 Spaz shut down DIS-N-DAT Magazine to focus his efforts in publish a publication that will empower women and give them a voice on social issues through music, art and fashion.

Spaz knowing good and well that he wouldn’t be able to operate a publication geared to women with out the help of...well a woman, he partnered up with Style Consultant and fashion Guru Hugette Montesinos. Montesinos whom has worked as a fashion stylist for several years in magazines such as Ocean Drive, Ocala, Mujer, and most recently on the 2007 Ala Moana Holiday Catalog specializes in doing shoots for editorials, portfolios, and all types of fashion endeavors. Montesinos is the Creative Director for DISfunkshion Magazine who over looks the entire operation, while Spaz is the Editor in Chief and Publisher. Montesinos enlisted a very talented staff to carry out this project to give DISfunkshion Magazine a national and international look with a local flair.

DISfunkshion Magazine is 100 pages thick (100 pound weight matted cover with 80 pound weight pages) and is available bi-monthly where all fine publications are sold, as well as fine boutiques all over the state for a cover price of $5.99, with an estimated readership of 10,000 for the first issue.

The first issue which is available in stores now, features home grown designers, music artist, and local as well as national social issues & awareness here in Hawaii!

Because of the overwhelming demand of the magazine, we have had reports of stores being out of stock. Here are locations that still have copies in stock...for now (hehehe)

Barns & Nobles (Kahala Mall and Ala Moana), Catharine’s Closet (Manoa) and Solei (Kapahulu).
