808 BREAKERS HISTORY

Formed in 2005, the "808 Breakers" name was created by Bboy Lo-Rock, who was one of the founding members along with-Justice (previously of L.A. Breakers ) and Mojo. Soon other popular, solo Bboys from Hawaii joined-Bboy M-Azing, Ballistik, Pilau Styles, Drenz, Knock-Out and Juse Lee whom all helped to make The 808 Breakers one of the most popular Bboy crews on the Hawaii battle circuit.

Quickly rising to fame in 2005, the 808 Breakers were known as a strong team and were fast becoming well known in their own right. Many unforgettable battles were rocked, such as - The 808 Breakers vs. Massive Monkeys, The 808 Breakers vs. Lionz of Zion and The 808 Breakers vs. the Rock Steady Crew which lead to the strong name recognition known today.

All of the original founding members went on to pursue other ventures and avenues in life, which left the opportunity for one second generation member (Bboy Solid) to create a new team of "808 Breakers" (Third Generation) with the vision to promote a clean healthy life style though the art of Break Dancing.

Now consisting of 7 members including FUNKY T, BBOY LAYNE, BBOY DREAM, BBOY ATTACK, JEFF "ARK" WONG, BBOY RED and BBOY SOLID this new band of breakers hopes to shock, amaze and delight though a positive art form, while living a clean drug free, alcohol free and tobacco free life style.

KALA KOLOHE

Born Ross Kalalau Hose Jr., known in the ring as “Kala Kolohe”, Kala takes the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) very serious. Kala understands that it’s not only about being fit but being focused. Kala shows his heart and passion in all that he does. He dropped over fifty pounds after his win over Corey Daniels back in July 2005. He combined strict dieting and intense training to meet his goal. He is now a cut 185 poundscoming off of 4 straight 1st round knockouts. With his success in the ring it os no wonder that he is being deemed “Hawai`i’s next peoples champ”.

In his spare time Kala enjoys dates with his wife, playing with his daughter, lifting weights and going to the beach. In all his success Kala “Kolohe” Hose has been able to remain humble and grounded, so much that even after training on the mainland with MMA legend Frank Shamrock in San Jose and many invitations to work out in world class gyms, Kala stills trains in his garage where he has built his own customized gym. Kala knows that staying humble is never forgetting where you came from and who helped you along the way that is one of the many reasons why Kala is such a great role model. But don’t mistake his “Aloha” for being a fool, Kala is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet on the street but dangerous to his opponents in the ring!
